Governance of Sarawak Delta Geopark
The geopark management framework is based on the principle of "co-management," where authorities and stakeholders collaboratively provide direction, approve and monitor geopark programmes and development activities. The Geopark Management Unit (GMU) under the FDS is responsible for coordinating and overseeing meetings and implementation of the agreed-upon outcomes. Actions and activities are carried out by designated agencies and stakeholders through clearly defined projects. The governance structure comprises three administrative tiers: the Steering Committee, the Technical Committee, and the Working Group Committees.

Brief Geological History
Geosites of Sarawak Delta Geopark
The geological history of the western part of Borneo, particularly within the SDGp territory, is highly complex and remains a topic of active scientific inquiry. This region is characterised by a rich variety of rock types that are collectively referred to as the Kuching Zone. Recent researches highlight that the oldest rocks in this zone are part of the Terbat Formation, which dates from the Upper Carboniferous to the Lower Permian period, approximately 320 to 270 million years ago. Following this, the rock formations of the Kerait Schist and the Tuang Formation, associated with the Upper Triassic epoch, emerged, dating around 216 to 220 million years ago (Breitfeld et al. 2017).
