Educational Programmes
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES
According to an article featured in ‘Berita RTM Sarawak’ on 27th Sep 2024, more schools will be involved in the aSDGp. For a start, two schools have been chosen as aSDGp’s adopted schools, which are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Taba Sait (primary school) and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Paku (secondary school). Students of SMK Paku and SK Taba Sait will be guided and given training on biology, geology and culture education. The Borneo International School has also embraced its role as an adopted school of the aSDGp through various initiatives aimed at fostering environmental awareness and cultural appreciation on 5th August 2024.


20 December 2024 - SMK Paku Geopark School Programme as part of “Minggu Aneka Cabaran” at Paku Rock Maze Garden, where students had the opportunity to explore and understand the karst limestone formations in the area.


11 November 2024 - Sarawak Delta Geopark (SDGp) participated in the Borneo International School (BIS) STEAM 2.0 Exhibition to raise awareness of SDGp initiatives.


26 September 2024 - Geopark School Program with SK Taba Sait (top) and GeoTalk Special Briefing involving the community and youth in the Padawan area (bottom) to better understand the importance of Geopark.


10 September 2024 - Awareness programme about Sarawak Delta Geopark to SMK Paku, Bau organised by the Public Education and Community Engagement Working Group.


28 May 2024 - Valuing and Educating on Archaeological Heritage Programme. The programme was organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), UNIMAS, under the course SSF2163 Introduction to Borneo Archaeology, in collaboration with the JKKK Kampung Santubong, KEMAS Santubong, and the Sarawak Delta Geopark. The programme was attended by 92 second-year students from the Anthropology and Sociology Programme, along with 100 parents and students from KEMAS Kindergarten in Kampung Buntal and Santubong.


21 May 2024 - Geo & Tech Forum organised by the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), UNIMAS, supported by the Sarawak Delta Geopark. This collaboration aims to leverage technology and innovation to better understand and showcase the unique features of the Sarawak Delta Geopark.


22 February 2024 - Townhall Session with High Learning Institution as part of the awareness programme about Sarawak Delta Geopark.
